What’s New: The Minimax Node Library
The latest addition to the Griptape Nodes ecosystem is the Minimax node library, which unlocks a suite of advanced generative capabilities:
- Text-to-Image Generation: Visual Designers can now generate high-quality images from detailed prompts, with support for multiple aspect ratios, custom dimensions, and batch creation. The built-in prompt optimizer helps refine creative ideas for the best results.
- Image-to-Image: For character design and avatar creation, Visual Designers can use reference images to maintain style and character consistency across multiple outputs, perfect for creating game assets or storyboard elements.
In this example I use agent generated prompts to create a character portrait and then reuse this portrait and another agent generated prompt with the Minimax Image-to-Image Node and batch creation to create five candidate images of a corporate headshot for the generated character
- Text-to-Video: Filmmakers can bring scripts to life by generating videos from text prompts, complete with advanced camera movement controls like pan, tilt, and zoom. This enables rapid visualization of scenes and animated sequences for pitches or pre-production.
- Image-to-Video: Animate static images or create smooth transitions between frames with first-frame to last-frame support, which is ideal for creating morphing effects, transitions and for creating consistent video sequences.
In this example I use an agent generated prompt to create a video transition from a new first first frame that I generated using the Minimax Image-to-Image node. For the last frame, I used one of the professional headshots that I generated in the last example.
- Music Generation: Music Producers can compose original music from descriptive prompts and lyrics, with customizable audio quality and structure tags for intros, verses, and choruses. This is a game-changer for producing demo tracks, podcast intros, or audio assets for advertising.
For this final example, I create some catchy pop music to go with our short video. I used an agent to generate lyrics in the correct format for the Minimax Music Generation Node using the prompt:
generate song lyrics for a pop song about someone who changes career from working nights as a security guard to working in an office. output only the lyrics. Precede verses with [Verse] and choruses with [Chorus]
I then passed these lyrics to the music generation node with the following prompt:
Create an upbeat, catchy pop song in the style of Taylor Swift with heartfelt lyrics about self-discovery. Include vivid storytelling, relatable emotions, and a memorable chorus. Use a bright, melodic tune with a mix of acoustic and electronic instruments.
