Improving Node Discovery in Griptape Nodes

At Griptape, we're constantly working to improve the user experience and make our tools more intuitive and efficient. In our latest update, we're excited to introduce a range of new features to the sidebar in Griptape Nodes. These enhancements are designed to help you navigate and organize your nodes more effectively, making it easier to find the tools you need and streamline your workflow.

A More Organized Sidebar

Currently, the sidebar in Griptape Nodes displays a long list of available nodes. This can become a little overwhelming as you add more libraries and nodes to your system. To address this issue, we've introduced a hierarchical structure to the sidebar, grouping related nodes together under categories such as Agents, Prompt Models, and Images. This new organization makes it easier to understand how nodes are related to each other and find the ones you need quickly.

Resizable Sidebar and Library View

In addition to the new hierarchy, we've also added the ability to resize the sidebar and create custom views. You can now adjust the size of the sidebar to suit your needs, making it easier to view and access your nodes. We've also introduced a new view that allows you to see which nodes are specifically contained in each library, making it easier to find the tools you need for a specific task, and to figure out which library to share with your colleagues so they can get access to a particular node.

Favorites and Reordering

As you start using nodes more frequently, you may find that there are certain nodes that you use all the time. To make it easier to access these favorite nodes, we've introduced a new Favorites section in the sidebar. You can drag and drop your favorite nodes into this section, and they'll be available to you at all times, regardless of the view you're in. You can also reorder your favorite nodes to suit your workflow, making it easier to access the tools you need in the order you need them.

Minimized Sidebar and Quick Access

We've also made it easier to access your nodes even when the sidebar is minimized. You can click on the minimize button or drag the sidebar to minimize it, and then access your nodes through the Favorites section, the entire node list, or the libraries. Additionally, if you hit the Spacebar to bring up the Add Node menu, your favorite nodes will be displayed at the top for quick and easy access.

What's Next

These new features are just the beginning of our efforts to improve node organization and accessibility in Griptape Nodes. We have more updates planned, so stay tuned for future announcements. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy the new features and find them helpful in streamlining your workflow. Thank you for using Griptape Nodes.
